The Vaerdi are a race in decline. Once occupying the entire range of the Akini-et-Togo, they have been reduced to the second largest nation by the predations of the beastmen from central Hylrexia. A situation many Vaerdi have lost their lives trying to remedy.

These large humans are descended from the same stock that created the Tursh and the enigmatic Atharâns. Many claim they are merely another clan of the Tursh rather than a separate race unto themselves. However, differences in their size and appearance as well the existence of the rare shape shifters among them would indicate otherwise.

They are an extremely hairy race and their tendency to wear furs gives them an “animal-like” appearance. They prefer their hair long and unkempt with colors of blonde and red being the most common; men have large bushy beards the color of which matches their hair. They are a large people averaging 6’ 4”.

Humans have the standard lifespan, attaining adulthood at the age of 15 and considered middle aged around 45. Most do not live beyond the age of 100.
